PACES (Passenger and Commercial EV Skateboard)

PACES set out to advance the outputs from a 2019 NVN proof of concept project, advancing the electric vehicle platform and a prototype JSC Automotive passenger vehicle from TRL5-8 and MRL4-6.

Project MUSTReCab

The MUSTReCaB project aimed to build upon a previous feasibility study and proof of concept research projects to deliver an ultra-lightweight solution for producing complex, feature rich load bearing structural panels in a recycled Carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite.

The 64 kW Reduced Induction Field Torque drive (RIFT64) Proof of Concept

RIFT64’s novel e-motor design offers performance advantages over competitor e-motors while being significantly lower cost to manufacture and using vastly fewer rare-earth materials. Advantages include: - 85% less copper and ~85% reduced magnet volume - 50%+ less weight - Reduced manufacturing cost - Flatter and improved efficiency - IoT functionalities

EV HEARSE

The EV HEARSE project built upon previous feasibility and proof of concept projects to deliver an affordable light body panel system for a fully electric hearse based on the Nissan Leaf. By improving manufacturing methods for Recycled Carbon Fibre Composite panels the project was able to demonstrate new markets for this valuable UK derived feedstock.
